Trumbull Babe Ruth improves to 2-0 at World Series

Trumbull defeated Del Rio (TX) 11-2 in its second game at the 15-year-old Babe Ruth World Series in Eagle Pass (TX) on Friday.

New England champion Trumbull continues pool play against Southeast champion Tallahassee (FLA) today at 1. Both teams will be entering the game at 2-0.

“A.J. Albaladejo (1-0) was outstanding on the mound pitching into the fifth inning before handing the ball over to Brandon Fowler with a 10-2 lead,” Trumbull manager Mike Buswell said after the win over the East Texas state champions. “They combined to give up three hits, one earned run, one walk and struck out 12 batters.”

Jack Durland and Jeffrey Kraus each had two hits and scored two runs.

Matt Wood (run scored), Jake Hull, D.J. Amaral (run scored) and Dylan Lamy (two runs scored) had base hits.

Ryan Warner walked three times and scored twice.

Lamy was chosen Ron Tellefson Player of the game by officials.

Trumbull, East Texas, Southeast, Middle Atlantic and Pacific Northwest make up the National Division.
