Staples hands St. Joseph first loss in boys basketball

Derek Sale scored 26 points when Staples handed St. Joseph its first loss of the season, 67-58 in an FCIAC boys’ basketball game in Trumbull on Thursday.

Sale made four 3-pointers as Staples improved to 10-1.

St. Joseph, now 11-1, was led by Jason James with 20 points.
