St. Joseph girls basketball team rules backboard, defeats Darien

St. Joseph’s ability to rebound helped it defeat host Darien 51-32 in a girls’ basketball game on Tuesday.

Izzy Casucci had 16 rebounds and Dennaye Hinds grabbed 11 boards, as coach Chris Lindwall’s team improved to 4-1 on the season.

Casucci, who blocked 5 shots, had 14 points to lead a balanced attack.

Nicole Zito scored 9 points and made two 3-pointers.

Hinds added 8 points and blocked two shots.

Kayleigh Carson scored 7 points, had 5 assists, and made 4 steals.

Erika Stephens had 6 points.

Katelyn Secor scored 11 points for Darien (1-2).
