St. Joseph defeated Westhill-Stamford 7-2 in boys’ hockey on Saturday.
Kacper Zajaczkowski gave coach Chris Nelson’s Cadets a 1-0 lead off an assist from Andrew Tata.
Tata scored unassisted for a 2-0 lead after one period.
Joey Bisson assisted on another Tata goal before W-S got on the board.
Johnny Karafa, from John McNabola, made it 4-1 after two.
Bisson, assisted by Tata and Karafa opened scoring in the third period.
W-H scored before Tata and Bisson scored unassisted as St. Joseph improved to 2-7.
Tyler Stiewing had 17 saves.
Karafa, Tata, Mark Husted-Edwards and Brady Tommasi scored goals in an earlier 7-4 loss to Xavier.
McNabola, Husted-Edwards, Jonathan Vitka, and Bisson (two) had assists.
