St. Joseph defeats New Fairfield in girls basketball

St. Joseph controlled the middle two quarters on its way to a 41-17 non-league girls’ basketball victory over New Fairfield on Friday.

Tied at 5, the Cadets outscored the Rebels 24-7 to take a 29-12 advantage into the final period.

Izzy Casucci scored 13 points for coach Chris Lindwall. Kayleigh Carson had nine, including a 3-pointer.

Dennaye Hinds had 12 rebounds, three blocks and four steals, Izzy Casucci 10 rebounds and three blocks, and Erika Stephens six assists and four steals.

Jadyn Brennerman and Ava Romanello led the New Fairfield offense.
