Abby Seal and Izzy Redrup each scored three goals to lead Ridgefield to a 7-2 victory over visiting Trumbull in a FCIAC field hockey contest.
Ridgefield scored four goals in the second quarter to open a 5-0 halftime lead.
Trumbull got one back midway through the third quarter when sophomore Devon Watson poked home a rebound for her second goal of the season.
In the fourth quarter, junior Kayla Barbagallo converted off a pass from classmate Maura Carbone to make it 7-2. It was Barbagallo’s 10th goal of the season.
Jenny Flynn made 10 saves in goal for Trumbull, which concluded the regular season with an 8-6-2 record.
The Eagles have clinched the seventh seed in the upcoming FCIAC tournament and will play #2 Darien at a time and date to be announced. It is the first time since the 2016 season that Trumbull has earned a FCIAC playoff berth.
