Ridgefield boys hockey defeats St. Joseph on Stewart hat trick

St. Joseph lost 5-1 to Ridgefield in boys’ hockey at the Rinks in Shelton on Tuesday.

Mark Husted-Edwards, assisted by Joey Bisson, scored at the 13:04 mark for a 1-0 lead after one period.

Ridgefield’s Will Stewart scored the first of his three goals in the second period when the Tigers went in front 2-1. He found the net twice in the final period.

Matt Silliman made 24 saves to earn the win for Ridgefield (3-5).

Tyler Stiewing had 19 stops for St. Joe’s (1-7-0).
