Leiffer scores in overtime, St. Joe’s girls lacrosse edges Trumbull

Maddigan Leifer’s overtime goal gave St. Joseph an 11-10 victory over host Trumbull in an FCIAC girls’ lacrosse match at McDougall Stadium on Saturday.

Izzy Casucci scored four goals, had two assists, and won seven draw controls for St. Joseph, now 2-1.

Leifer had three goals with five assists and three draw controls.

Lindsay Bull scored three goals and had two assists for Trumbull (0-2), which opened its season with a 17-5 loss to unbeaten Guilford (4-0).

St. Joe’s Autumn Murphy had two goals and an assist.

Casey Mayglothling and Olivia Badeaux each scored a goal.

Meghan Hoynes and Murphy had assists.

Sam Miller made 11 saves.

For Trumbull, Lauren Wright (two), Kate Coppeia, Callan Vaughn, Alessia Lye, Kiki Grant and Sam Crosby scored goals.

Wright (two), Coppeia (two), Vaughn, Lauren Delaney and Lye had assists.
