Trumbull Lauren Walsh captured two individual titles, breaking her own record in the process, at the State Open Swimming Championship in West Hartford on Sunday.

“I’m so happy to do this in my last high school race,” said Walsh who will attend the U.S. Naval Academy. “In my races I always imagine someone near me in the next lane to push me.”

Walsh’s time of 1:01.04 in the 100-breaststroke bettered her mark of 1:01.96 in 2019. Michelle Weissler from Greenwich took second in 1:04.37.

Walsh won the 200 IM in 200.19. She rallied to take the lead going into the final 50 yards of freestyle, where Payton Foster from Greenwich charged back to finish second at 2:00.35.

Greenwich won the team title. Trumbull was 19th for coach Bill Strickland.

Norah Hampford, Walsh, Kristen Racicot and Lauren Clark placed eighth in the 200-medley relay with a time of 1:51.07.

Clark, Racicot, Abigail Adams and Walsh were 19th in the 200-freestyle relay (1:42.63).
