Jason James scores 25, St. Joseph defeats Trumbull in boys basketball

The St. Joseph boys’ basketball team defeated Trumbull 72-61 in the Playing for a Cure boys’ basketball game that benefitted the American Cancer Society on Saturday.

Three-pointers dominated the contest with host St. Joseph making 9 treys and Trumbull knocking down 8.

Jason James led coach Kevin Wielk’s unbeaten Cadets to their fourth consecutive win with a 25-point outburst.

Tommy Shannon scored 16 points, Glenn Manigault 8 and Eli Newby 7.

Coach Buddy Bray’s Trumbull team was paced by Mileeq Green (14 points), Lance Walsh (13 points), Connor Johnston (12 points) and Johnny McCain (11 points).
