HS update: Sexton homers Trumbull softball to victory

Becca Sexton had three home runs and drove in six runs when Trumbull defeated Greenwich 21-2. Maura Carbone had four hits in the five-inning game. CC Cummings and Caroline Hall each had three hits as Trumbull improved to 8-3, 4-2 FCIAC.

Trumbull boys’ volleyball

The Eagles defeated Fairfield Warde 3-0 to improve to 12-1 on the season. Trumbull, 5-1 FCIAC, was led by Ben Leeds with five kills, 11 digs and two aces and Carson Brunone with 33 assists and four aces. Kieran O'Sullivan and Brennan Cutter added nine kills each. Trumbull defeated St. Joseph 3-0. The Eagles were led by O'Sullivan (4 kills, 3 blocks), Leeds (4 kills, 6 digs) and Cutter (8 kills, 2 blocks). The Eagles topped Greenwich 3-0. Keying the win were Cutter (13 kills, 2 blocks), O'Sullivan (7 kills, 4 blocks), Brunone (28 assists, 4 blocks, 2 aces) and Matt Cherfane (8 digs).
