Greenwich boys upsets St. Joseph in FCIAC basketball playoffs

No. 15 seed Greenwich upset No. 2 seed St. Joseph 50-49 in the FCIAC boys’ basketball round of 16 in Trumbull on Tuesday.

Greenwich (4-8) plays No. 10 Warde (5-6), who knocked off No. 7 Danbury, in the quarterfinals in Fairfield on Friday at 5 p.m.

A.J. Barber and James Pilc each scored 15 points for Greenwich. Barber and Dan Arnold each made three 3-pointers.

Tommy Shannon had five 3-pointers and finished with 23 points for St. Joseph (11-2). Jason James scored 11 points.
