Gawlick field goal in final seconds lifts SCSU past St. Anselm

Szymon Gawlick kicked a 27-yard field goal in the final seconds to give the Southern Connecticut State football team a 34-31 victory over Saint Anselm Friday night in a Northeast-10 Conference game at Jess Dow Field in New Haven.

Saint Anselm scored on a 51-yard touchdown pass with 1:49 left in regulation to tie the game at 31.

Joe Bernard threw a touchdown pass to Izaiah Sanders in the fourth quarer for the Owls (2-1). Gawlick also kicked a 26-yard field goal in the third quarter.
