The St. Joseph High hockey team defeated New Canaan, 6-3, on Monday.

The Cadets (6-2-0) scored the first four goals, with Christian Keator finding the back of the net twice to make it 2-0 after one period.

His first goal was unassisted and Andrew Gore and Colin Powell assisted on the second.

Powell, from Ryan Corcoran, and Corcoran, from Keator and Troy Deering, put the Cadets up 4-0 midway through the second stanza.

New Canaan (2-3-2) scored before Bryan Canforatta restored St. Joseph’s four-goal lead at the end of two.

It was 5-3 when Deering scored on assists from Keator and Sean Smith in the third.

Wade Conlan had 31 saves for St. Joseph.
