The St. Joseph High boys hockey team dominated the final two periods to defeat Hamden High by a score of 6-4 at Lou Astorino Rink in Hamden on Friday.

Christian Keator, who scored a three-goal hat trick for the third straight contest for the 5-2 Cadets, gave the locals a 1-0 lead off assists from Colin Powell and Andrew Gore.

Hamden (2-3) scored the next three goals before Zach Usinger tallied at 10:56 of the first to make it a 3-2 game. Bryan Canforatta and Ryan Corcoran had the assists.

Corcoran, Gore and Keator scored for St. Joseph in the second period for a 5-3 lead, before the Dragons made it 5-4 at the break.

Corcoran had two assists, and Matt Greenhut, Keator and Canforatta one each in the session.

Keator scored unassisted with 19 seconds left to secure the win.

Marc Van Etten had 24 saves.
