Klawa Luczynskyj Uhliar, age 88, died quietly at home on Friday, October 3, 2014. Klawa was born on April 4, 1926 in Okhtyrka, Ukraine.
At the age of 16, she was forcibly taken to Germany by the invading Nazis as a slave-laborer, where she endured WWII. After Allied liberation, she spent several years in Displaced Persons Camps where she married and had two daughters. She immigrated to the United States in June, 1951, settling in New Haven, CT.
