Jose Henrique Fernandes, 88, of Easton, employed by Cornell-Carr Company, Inc. of Monroe, carpenter, husband of Gloria Costa, died Dec. 9, at Ludlowe Health Care.
Born in Beca, Portugal on Feb. 8, 1928, son of the late Damiáo Fernandes and Ana Maria Bogalhas.
Besides his wife, survivors include children, Maria Odete F. Goncalves and her husband, Nelson of Trumbull, Elisabete Fernandes of Montreal, Canada, Beatrice Fernandes of Bridgeport, Adilia Fernandes Batchelor and her husband, Brad of Trumbull and Sergio C. Fernandes and his wife, Martina of Easton, 12 grandchildren, his brother, Manuel Fernandes and his wife, Teresa of Massachusetts, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Also predeceased by a brother, Antonio Fernandes and sisters, Hipolita Lage, Irene Lage and Maria Sanches.
Services: Tuesday, Dec. 13, 10 a.m., St. Andrew Church, 435 Anton St., Bridgeport. Entombment will follow in the Community Mausoleum of Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield. Calling hours: Monday, Dec. 12, 4-8 p.m., Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
