Angelo F. Petroccio, age 81, beloved husband of Adeline Nucifora Petroccio, of Naples, FL, passed away peacefully on Sunday March 8, 2015, at NCH North Hospital in Naples.
Born in Bridgeport on October 27, 1933, he was a son of the late William and Margaret Hegadus Petroccio and was a longtime resident of Trumbull before moving to Naples.
Mr. Petroccio was a graduate of Central High School Class of 1951, where he played football, basketball and was a member of the acting organization, the Players Club.
He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict, and after an honorable discharge he settled into a lifelong career as a hairdresser. He was both owner and operator of Smartress Salon and The Shop in Fairfield and later worked for Zotos International, Inc.
In addition to his wife Adeline of 54 years, survivors include his three loving children, Marcellino Petroccio and his wife Julie of Ridgefield, William Petroccio and his wife Ann of Fairfield and Candis Butcaris and her husband Greg of Trumbull and seven grandchildren, Nicolina, Brian, Gregory, Kevin, Matthew, Gianna and Aleah as well as many nieces and nephews who lovingly referred to him as “Doc”.
He was predeceased by his brother, William Petroccio and sister, Maryann Calabrese.
A Memorial Service celebrating Angelo’s life will take place on Monday, March 16, 2015 at 12:30 pm in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. There will be no calling hours.
