Obituary: Alfred R. Pagliuco, 92, of Trumbull

Alfred R. Pagliuco, age 92, of Trumbull, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center, ten days short of his 93rd birthday.

Born in Fairfield on January 23, 1922, he was a son of the late Luigi and Nancy Costello Pagliuco.

Al worked as a lead man for Bridgeport Machine Co. for over 30 years. Following his retirement, he served 18 years as a special Police Officer with the Fairfield Police Department. He was an usher at St. Theresa Church and a fan of UCONN Women’s basketball.

Al was always willing to help others and will be lovingly remembered for saying “You’re the Best” to everyone.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Agnes Hoffman Pagliuco and his second wife, Adeline (Dee) Huminski Bayuk Pagliuco, three brothers, Phillip, Domenic and Louis Pagliuco and five sisters, Josephine D’Albora, Madelyn D’Albora, Marie Palenchar, Rose Mastronardi and Helen Zadravecz.

Survivors include his beloved daughter, Paula Wojna and her husband David, Sr. of Bridgeport, his devoted grandson, David Wojna, Jr. and his girlfriend, Britnee Lafond, loving sister, Nancy Vernoci, sisters-in-law, Helen and Carole Pagliuco as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is also survived by special friends, Billy and Reuben and his special driver, Peter.

Funeral services will take place on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 8:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 9:30 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Relatives and friends may call on Friday from 4-8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
