Letter: Tutu dad thanks Trumbull community for support

To the Editor: First off — thank you so much for the flattering and well articulated article in The Times. The event was a huge success! We had over 800 runners and at least 200 spectators. It was all smiles and so much positivity. If you have interest in following up I'd be happy to give you more info. The day for the girls started with getting their nails done by seniors Rachel McHugh and Hannah Steiger. They then road in a limousine donated by Elite Limousine by Gardella's and were welcomed by all the runners and spectators. The Jane Ryan Elementary School faculty/staff (particularly Mrs Pancoast, Meg Bolton, and Nurse Sloan) and Jane Ryan Father's Club manned the Raffle Table with items from Chelsea Piers, Vineyard Vines, Fitness 4000, Rockin Jump, Pure Poetry, Vazzy's Osteria, the Sound Tigers, and S Salon and Day Spa. The Girls and Boys Track Teams organized the registration table with the help of girls throwing Coach Candi Butcaris. The Trumbull Volunteer Fire Companies (LHFD, TCFD, and NFD) manned the BBQ under the direction of McCaffrey family friend Casey Welch. The food for the BBQ was donated by the Trefz Family McDonald's Restaurants, Tomlinson's Restaurant, Pepperidge Farm, with propane provided by Rural Gas. The FDs even brought fire trucks to the event. The event featured DJ Keif Doyle (THS English Teacher) and DJ Ryan Tyler. It was films by Laird Productions who will be putting together video footage of the event. Pictures were taken by many people including Lisa Romanchick, Lauren Squires, and Katherine Postizzi. The McCaffrey's and Herrington's would like to send a tremendous thanks to race organizers: Kathleen Kaufmann, Bhavya Bhushan, Sydney Adams, Gabi Misiewicz, Haley Mocker and THS retiree and owner/operator MS Running Productions, Marty Schaivone. Also, for all their support, they would also like to thank THS Athletic Secretary Wendy Haslam and THS Athletic Director Mike King. There are too many other community members to thank. So many people stepped up to help out. Without your support, this event would not have been as amazing as it was. That is pretty much the recap.
