Letter — Tesoro listens, and gets things done

I first met Vicki Tesoro in 2013 at a meet and greet for then Democratic First Selectman candidate Martha Jankovic-Mark. My wife, Angela, and I brought our two boys, aged 7 and 4, so they could see what it was like to take part in the Democratic process. Vicki (and of course her husband Tom) were immediately welcoming and kind to our young family.

We chose to plant our roots in Trumbull because it was both affordable and offered a top tier school system. Little did we know how wonderful everything else is! In the years since that first encounter with Vicki I’ve learned that she cares deeply about our town and all of its residents. She truly wants the best for each and every person.

Among the many reasons that Vicki Tesoro should be our next first selectman there are a few that really stand out. First, she has the experience. She knows how to get things done. She has many years of volunteering and serving as an elected official under her belt and has earned the respect of everyone that she’s worked with. Second, she is the kind of person that can bring people of differing opinions and backgrounds together to have useful and productive dialog. Finally, she listens. She genuinely wants to hear what you have to say and pays attention to your concerns. If there’s something she can do to address it, she will.

Trumbull is our home. It deserves the best care it can receive. It deserves compassion, responsibility, kindness, respect, honesty, and integrity. There is one candidate, above all, that encompasses all of the things that we need in Trumbull. That’s why, on November 7, I will be voting for my friend, Vicki Tesoro.
