Letter: More public forums coming for senior-community center committee

To the Editor:

We would like to thank the people of Trumbull who came out on Sept. 28 to share their opinions with the Senior-Community Center and Library Study Committee.

The date of the second public forum has been changed to Oct. 20th in the community room of the library. This change is to accommodate the first selectman debate on Oct. 28. Once again we are looking forward to hearing from all of Trumbull about this important proposed project.

This bipartisan study committee  has been tasked with exploring the needs and the possibilities of a new Senior Center  that may or may not be combined with a community center and/or the library. The committee is considering many models. Therefore your input is very important.

Another way to participate in the process would be to complete one of the two online surveys . One is for those over 55 and is focused on the senior center. The other online survey is for all Trumbull residents and gathers information on the needs of the community. Both surveys can be found at www.trumbull-ct.gov.

The third public forum will be on Nov. 6 at 11:00 a.m. at the Center at Priscilla Place.

This is an exciting opportunity for our town. Trumbull is a great town. This project will certainly enhance the quality of life of all of its residents and alter Trumbull's landscape, so it is important that we get it  right. We invite you to become part of the planning process.
Joe Pifko & Dan Marconi,
Co-Chairs, Senior/Community/Library Building Committee
