Letter — Gaudiano engages youth

Though I am only 18, I understand how important it is to have elected officials who truly care.

Ashley Gaudiano is one of them.

Soon after the shocking 2016 election, Trumbull Democratic Town Committee meetings began to have new faces, eager to get involved. However, not everyone could commit. Ashley was the opposite. After coming to the first meeting post-election, she stuck around and got involved. Soon, she was running for Town Council and doing her part to help Trumbull.

Ashley also has taken the unique step of reaching out to Trumbull's youth. It feels that now, more than ever, the young people in America are standing up and claiming their role in democracy. Ashley has been highly supportive of those efforts.

When the students of Trumbull High School wanted to stand up and say enough to gun violence, Ashley was offering her assistance in any way we needed. And she stayed proactive by hosting a youth forum in July to hear directly from young Trumbull and Fairfield residents.

For those who are young and want to have a supportive voice in Hartford, I urge you vote for Ashley Gaudiano on November 6.
