Letter: Garbage is a problem on the trail

To the Editor:

I am a Trumbull resident that lives near the Rails to Trails. I walk on the trail every morning along with another Trumbull resident.

It is very discouraging to see how irresponsible people are with their garbage. My friend and I pick up plastic bags with dog “poop,” empty coffee cups, used tissues, empty and sometimes full water bottles, to mention a few. We have placed a plastic garbage bag on the fence on the Tait Road side, and every week we have to put this bag in our own trash can so that our private waste company can take it away.

There has to be stricter guidelines for our beautiful trail don't you agree?
