Letter — Fundraiser was a wonderful celebration

To the Editor:
This past Monday was a wonderful celebration of the giving community Trumbull has here in town. IMPACTrumbull, a local 501c3 nonprofit, held its sixth annual mini golf fundraiser inside the Trumbull Library. Proceeds from the event benefit the Trumbull Library and community service projects and collections of IMPACTrumbull.
Over 350 people enjoyed 18 holes of mini golf throughout the library and bid on over 40 silent auction items, donated by local businesses and individuals. Patrons also donated hotel toiletries and children’s books in support of our recent collections.
IMPACTrumbull would like to thank the community for their support of the event and to the many businesses and individuals who sponsored the event, including Love Where You Live Homes CT, People’s United Bank, Old Towne Restaurant, Invicro, and Vicki & Tom Tesoro.
A special thank you to Stefan Lyhne-Nielsen, Director of the Trumbull Library, and the Public Works Department, who went above and beyond to make sure the library was warm, safe, and open for the event.
This February, IMPACTrumbull will complete its 100th project. Since the fall of 2012, we’ve donated 8,300 Blessings Bags of travel toiletries and over 900 Care Caddies of full size hygiene items to various homeless shelters, homes for veterans, and domestic violence centers. This past week, we donated 5,000 children’s books to Read to Grow, bringing our total over the past five years to over 25,000 books. We count over 130 families as members and look forward to continuing to grow in 2019. To learn more about who we are and who we support, please visit our website www.impactrumbull.org.
