To the Editor:

On behalf of the Trumbull Republican Town Committee (TRTC), we would like to thank the voters of Trumbull. We thank you for opening your doors to us as we campaigned. We thank you for listening to our message. We thank all of those who placed a candidate’s sign on their lawn, and for reading our campaign literature. We thank you for taking the time to talk to us when we called you on the telephone to discuss issues of vital importance to Trumbull. On Election Day, Trumbull residents came to the polls in overwhelming numbers to cast their ballots. When the votes were tallied, every Republican on the ballot won in the Town of Trumbull.

The results Tuesday prove that Trumbull is a barometer for how residents of Connecticut want their state governed. They want reliable leaders who budget responsibly, protect taxpayers, create opportunities for jobs and development and work with educators to improve schools. Tim Herbst’s star is rising in Connecticut because he has proven that if you govern well voters will validate your work on their behalf. This is a rallying point for Republican candidates in general as they look to restore the promise of Connecticut on behalf of all voters

In the coming year, Trumbull's Republican Party will continue to work toward our goals of raising public awareness of town issues, and getting more citizens involved and engaged in our Town's government. We will continue to work tirelessly in achieving our agenda of bringing fiscal responsibility and accountability to our town government, which will enable us to continue to maintain our commitment to a strong education for our children and public safety for all of our residents. I invite all town residents who may be interested in joining this effort to call me at 203-339-5165 for more information, refer to the TRTC web site (www.trumbullgop.org) or come to one of our monthly meetings.
