Letter: Experience and love for the town
To the Editor:
My name is Lori Rosasco Schwartz. I am running for Town Council, District 3. I have proudly called Trumbull home for almost my entire life. I am a mother of three, an active volunteer in the community and an experienced businessperson.
My husband and I, both Trumbull High graduates, chose to raise our family in Trumbull due to its outstanding school system and its wonderful sense of community. All of our children are in or have recently graduated from the Trumbull public school system, so it is very important to me to keep the school system strong and adequately funded.
As a corporate controller, CPA and business person with over 25 years experience in finance, budgeting, auditing, financial planning and process improvement for major corporations, I am keenly focused on keeping our taxes stable through controlled and responsible spending. Balance among responsible spending, stable taxes, and a strong school system helps to attract new families and businesses to town, keeps our property values up, our children well educated, while making it more affordable for our senior citizens to stay in town, something I hope to be able to do in my own retirement.
Over the past four years, I have been impressed with the positive direction in which the Herbst team has taken Trumbull. I would like to use my business experience and my love for this town to continue to make Trumbull even better. I hope I can count on your support on Nov. 5.
