Obituary: Walter L. Kurzyna, World War II veteran
Walter L. Kurzyna died July 15, 2013 at Ct. Hospice in Branford, CT.
Mr. Kurzyna was born January 23, 1920 son of the late Henry Kurzyna and Stella Kajma Kurzyna in Bridgeport, CT.
He attended St. Michaels School and Harding High School. He was a proud veteran of WW2 when his country called him. He was a proud member of the American Legion Post 141 and VFW 10059 of Trumbull, CT.
He was a baker all of his life working at Zeislers Bakery in Bridgeport for many years. He also worked for Frances Bakery and Luigis in Trumbull as well as numerous bakeries.
He is survived by his daughter Claudia Kurzyna of Trumbull, CT, his granddaughter Julianne Shapiro of Brooklyn, NY and several nieces and nephews,
He was predeceased in death by his wife Julia Knap Kurzyna, his brother Wenceslaus Kurzyna, Jean Kurzyna and Helen Michalewicz.
Services took place Thursday July 18, 2013 at Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home with a Mass of Christian Burial at Christ the King Church, 4700 Madison Avenue, Trumbull, CT. Interment in Resurrection Cemetery with full military honors.
