Obituary: Rosemarie C. “Ricki” Martin, 81, of Trumbull
Rosemarie C. “Ricki” Martin, age 81 of Trumbull, beloved wife of the late James D. Martin, passed away Saturday, October 11, 2014 in St. Vincent’s Medical Center.
Rosemarie was born in Bridgeport, daughter of the late John and Ethel Stanley Comerford, and was a 51 year resident of Trumbull.
She was a graduate of St. Charles Grammar School and Harding High School and worked as a clerk for many years at the United Cerebral Palsy Penny Lane Thrift Shoppe.
Rosemarie was a 51 year active member of St. Theresa Parish, where she was involved in the Share the Word Prayer Group, Charismatic Renewal, Health Care Ministry, The Legion of Mary, a founder of the Adoration Chapel, Prayer Shawl Group and served as a Eucharistic Minister. She was also a member of the Red Hat Club.
Survivors include her devoted children; Cathleen Ali and Khaled (Mike) of Stratford, James D. Martin Jr. and Missy Powell Martin of Maine, Christopher Martin and Jen of Greenwich, Thomas J. Martin and Dr. Randy L. Schulman of Trumbull, Mary Lynn Ragonesi and Mark of Middlebury, ten loving grandchildren; Robert Boncoddo and wife Becky, Mona, Moharam, and Heather Ali, Melissa Martin and fiancé Hal Berman, James Martin, Jacob and Mia Martin, Marisa and Nicholas Ragonesi, three cherished great grandchildren James, Jackson, and Josephine Boncoddo, a brother-in-law David Martin and wife Del of Oxford, and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sister and three brothers; Susan, David, Jack and Robert Comerford, and her brother-in-law (like a brother to her) John Martin.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 8:00a.m. from the Redgate - Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull and at 8:45a.m., in St. Theresa Church, with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Long Hill Burial Grounds. Friends may call Tuesday from 4p.m. to 7p.m.
