Richard W. Dick, age 88, of Trumbull, passed away on December 28, 2013. He was born in New York, NY and later moved to Trumbull where he resided with his wife, Elizabeth (Strickland), of 60 years.

He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. He graduated from the University of Bridgeport with a degree in Manufacturing Engineering and worked for the Bullard Company in Fairfield prior to working at and retiring from the Perkin-Elmer Company, Optical Technology Division in Danbury CT.

He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed golfing, fixing things around the house and spending time with his family. Richard was an active member of the Trumbull Congregational Church and served in various capacities over the years.

He is survived by his wife Elizabeth of Trumbull; his three children David and his wife Nellie of Bridgeport, Michael of Oxford and Carol Anderson and her husband Douglas of Newtown; A sister Eleanor Heym of Ramsey, NJ; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 11 a.m. on Friday January 3 at the Trumbull Congregational Church 3115 Reservoir Avenue. Interment will be private. Friends may greet the family on Thursday from 4-8p.m. at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home 399 White Plains Rd.
