Obituary: Mary Lou McGuinness Wynne, 84, retired from Bridgeport School system
Mary Lou was born in Bridgeport, daughter of the late John and Winifred Mulloy McGuinness and retired from the Bridgeport School System, where she was an aide for children with special needs.
She had a love for the beach which began when she was a child, working at Restmore Beach Club in Fairfield her family’s business and was a founding member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians Ladies Auxiliary. Mary Lou’s greatest joy was spending time with family and friends, with a smile that lit up the room and will always be remembered for her positive, loving and caring nature.
Survivors include her devoted children, son, John B. (Jack) Wynne and wife Janet of Trumbull, daughters, Sally Ann Harris of Trumbull and Winifred Wynne of Milford, seven grandchildren, Sean Doherty, Shannon Doherty, Billy Harris, Jackson Wynne, Conor Wynne, Elizabeth Wynne and Mary Kate Wynne, two sisters-in-law, Margaret Powers and Mary DeVaney and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary Lou was predeceased, by a daughter, Kathleen Mary Wynne, a brother, Judge John McGuinness and three sisters, Winifred Doyle, Peggy McGuinness and Sally Elwood and her son-in-law, Harlan Harris.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 9:00a.m., from the Redgate - Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull, and at 10:00a.m., in St. Stephen Church, Trumbull, with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery. Friends may call Friday, 4:00 - 8:00p.m., in the funeral home.
