Obituary: Mary Corcoran Henriques, 62, of Trumbull, formerly of Fairfield
Mary Corcoran Henriques, 62, of Trumbull, and formerly of Fairfield, passed away after fighting hard against breast cancer on September 2, 2013, peacefully surrounded by her family.
Several days before, her life was celebrated by family friends coming and going, sharing stories and singing songs with Mary amongst the chaos of a large family.
Mary was truly loved and respected by all who knew her. Mary was born in Bridgeport, CT to the late Richard and Maureen Corcoran. She was proud of her Irish heritage and was an active member of the Gaelic American Club of Fairfield as an Irish step dancer for many years. She was vice president of Operations for NGC Worldwide, Inc.
As an exceptionally selfless person, Mary was devoted to her large family and loved hosting family gatherings. Her favorite things in life were being a mother and spending time with her “Dollies” (her six beautiful grandchildren). She was an adventurous person who never said no, passionate about gardening and cooking, and could frequently be heard singing and laughing with her brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her three loving children Crissy and her husband Peter Biondi of Trumbull, Joe and his wife Dana Henriques of PA, and Michael Henriques of Washington, DC; eight brothers and sisters, Jim Corcoran and his wife Noreen of Orange, Tom Corcoran and his wife Sandy of CT, Nancy Dolan and her husband Ken of NV, Joan Espinosa and her husband Luis of NC, Patty Corcoran and her husband Andy Pinto of Monroe, Eileen Ferreira and her husband Tony of Shelton, Richard Corcoran of Westport, Noreen Shnipes and her husband Don of Shelton, six grandchildren; Gabriella, Jake, Mackenzie, Avery, Samantha and Skylar; and 18 nieces and nephews and many many cousins, Charles Henriques and her mother in law Lucy Henriques.
Friends may greet the family on Friday from 4-8 p.m. at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home 399 White Plains Rd. Trumbull and are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Directly at St. Stephen’s Church 6968 Main St. Trumbull. Inurnment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
