Kevin Francis Wolfe, age 81, of Trumbull, CT passed away on February 21, 2015. Kevin was born in Brooklyn, NY and was a longtime resident of West Hartford, CT.

A professor of English and Speech for over 40 years, he taught at Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School in Brooklyn, NY, Kings College in Wilkes Barre, PA, Sacred Heart University, Fairfield, CT, retiring as Professor Emeritus from the former Greater Hartford Community College where he also served as Chapter President to the Congress of Connecticut Community Colleges.

A graduate of the Redemptorists Congregation’s St. Mary’s preparatory school in North East, PA, Kevin received his Bachelor’s Degree, Magna Cum Laude at St. John’s University, NY where he was also awarded a Master’s Degree. He received an additional Master’s Degree from Fairfield University, Fairfield, CT.

An award-winning poet and author, his works were published in The Gettysburg Review, Plains Poetry Journal, James Joyce Quarterly and Tunxis Poetry Review among other collections. He is a recipient of the James Joyce Literary Prize from the Joyce Society of Washington, D.C. for his work in recognition of the James Joyce Centenary. He was a regular presenter with West Hartford Library’s Faxon Poets.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Ann Wolfe of Trumbull, CT, and their children Peter and his wife Janine of Trumbull, CT, son Robert and his wife Catherine of Dayton, OH and son Terence of Tampa, FL; a brother Emmett and his wife Catherine of NY, a sister Ann Walsh and her husband Jack of NY; his grandchildren Erin, Julia, Colin and Shannon; several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 27th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Theresa R.C. Church, 5301 Main Street, Trumbull, CT. Interment will follow. The family will receive friends at Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Road, Trumbull, CT from 8:00 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. prior to the funeral service.
