Obituary: Joseph Piatak, 86, of Stratford
Joseph Piatak, 86, of Stratford, husband of the late Genocy (Jean) Marczak Piatak, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2013 in the Jewish Home for the Elderly with his loving family by his side.
Joseph was born on September 19, 1926 in Granville, NY and was the son of the late John and Mary Homa Piatak.
He was employed by Hershey Metal Products, Norden and Robertshaw Controls as a Clerical and Packaging Engineer.
Joseph was an avid bowler and golfer and enjoyed spending time with his family.
Joseph is survived by his brother John Pyatak and wife Shirley of Stratford, four sisters, MaryAnn Kendall and husband Richard of Stratford, Margaret Piatak of Trumbull, Agnes Hart and husband Walter of Fairfield, Irene Mulligan and husband Edward of Beacon Falls, one brother-in-law, Hyacinth Battagliotti of Stratford and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
In addition to his beloved wife Genocy (Jean), he was also predeceased by two brothers Michael and George and one sister Anna Battagliotti.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. David Jutkowitz and staff of Bennett 2 at the Jewish Home for their compassionate care to their brother Joseph.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday April 4, 2013 at 10:00 AM Directly at Our Lady of Grace Church 497 Second Hill Lane Stratford where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Msgr. Martin Ryan. Interment will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery. Friends may call at the Galello - Luchansky Funeral Home 2220 Main Street Stratford on Wed. April 3, 2013 from 5 -7 PM.
