Obituary: Joseph E. Howard, 93, formerly of Trumbull
Joe was born in Bridgeport, son of the late John J. and Anna Molloy Howard, and resided most of his life in Trumbull.
He retired as vice president of Auto Swage, and was a Captain, serving with the Marines in World War II, where he flew Corsair planes.
Joe graduated from Bassick High School, and the University of Connecticut. He had a long career at Auto Swage, enjoyed golf, summer vacations in New Hampshire, and winters in Florida.
In addition to his beloved wife Susan, survivors include his devoted children; Jay Howard and wife Pamela of Palmyra, NJ, Joan Samson and husband Alain of Cape Coral, FL, Sr. Ann Howard, SND of East Haven, and Pat Parnoff and husband Rick of Oxford, a sister Margaret Fitzpatrick of Fairfield, daughter-in-law Anne McCullough of Denver, CO, five grandchildren; Martha Parkins and husband Jeremy, Patrick Parnoff and wife Rebecca, Jacqueline Lagoy and husband Scott, Amy Samson, and Claire Howard, a great grandson Ryker Parkins, and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a son Robert Howard.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:00a.m., meeting directly in Christ the King Church, 4700 Madison Avenue, Trumbull, with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow with full military honors in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call Wednesday from 5p.m. to 8p.m., in the Redgate - Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull.
