Elizabeth “Kitty” Strickland Dick, age 85, of Trumbull, passed away May 27, 2014.

Mrs. Dick was born in Milledgeville, Georgia to the late Hardy and Esther Strickland.

She received her bachelor’s degree from Duke University and became a stewardess for United Airlines prior to her marriage. She earned her master’s degree from N.Y.U., attended Columbia University and studied at the Juilliard School.

She enjoyed lifelong learning and a love for music as she taught piano out of her home in Trumbull for many years.

Mrs. Dick was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Richard W. Dick.

She is survived by her three children David and his wife Nelly of Bridgeport, Michael of Oxford and Carol Anderson and her husband Douglas of Newtown; her brother Carl Strickland and his wife Jean of Villa Rica Georgia; seven grandchildren – Nicole Hanbury and Garrett Dick, Ruben Ramos, David and Daniel Estrada, and Elizabeth and Emily Anderson; six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Trumbull Congregational Church 3115 Reservoir Avenue. Trumbull, CT. Kitty and her husband Richard will be interred at The Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City at a later date. Friends may greet the family on Friday, May 30, 2014 from 4-8 p.m. at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home 399 White Plains Rd. Trumbull, CT.
