Christopher Kitchener of Trumbull, Connecticut, born July 8, 1937, died suddenly at the age of 77 on January 2, 2015.

He is survived by his wife, Diana, sister, Cynthia Price of Stevenage, England, and children, Julie Leiss and her partner Allen Heady of Bridgeport, Roy Kitchener and his wife Sharon of Cascais, Portgual, and Richard Kitchener and his wife Lesley of Monroe. He is also survived by his grandchildren Derek Leiss, Amanda Leiss, Brittany Leiss, Kimberly Kitchener, Cody Kitchener, Jake Kitchener, Gordon Kitchener, Alexandra Kitchener, Christopher Kitchener, and Emily Kitchener, as well as his nieces Sally Parker, Jane Waters, Lisa Ramsay, and Heidi Prouvot, and his nephews Andy Price and Jonathan Metcalf.

His daughter Gabrielle Kitchener predeceased him in 2009.

Christopher Kitchener was an extremely kind, generous man. He had a wonderful sense of humor and a loving heart. His bright and inquisitive mind was a wealth of technical knowledge, which he was eager to share with others.

He was an avid gardener and the ultimate do-it-yourselfer. Chris gave generously to several charities and was always willing to help those in need. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

He was born in Barnet-Harts, England and went to school at St. Alban’s and Hatfield Technical College. In 1966, he brought his family to the U.S. to work as an electrical engineer at Sikorsky Aircraft in Stratford. He worked as an avionics specialist on the Seahawk and Blackhawk helicopters.

Friends and family are invited to attend his funeral services on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home 399 White Plains Rd. Trumbull. Interment will be private. Friends may call on Thursday from 4-8 p.m.
