Obituary: August “Gus” Lindine, 82, of Trumbull
August “Gus” Lindine, age 82, beloved husband of Rosemarie Chiappetta Lindine of Trumbull, passed away on May 6, 2014.
Born in Port Chester, NY on October 19, 1931, he was a son of the late August and Frances Sposato Lindine.
Gus grew up in Harrison, New York and was a longtime resident of Mamaroneck before settling in Trumbull, CT. Before his retirement he was the proprietor and operator of Lindine Construction Corp. for many years, a family business he owned with his brothers.
A U.S. Navy Veteran, he was in the Construction Battalion (Sea Bee’s) during the Korean War.
In addition to his wife Rosemarie, survivors include his four children, Gus Lindine (Linda), Fran Henning (Scott), James Lindine (Jennifer), Carrie Smalley (Richard), 8 grandchildren, Kelly and Casey Lindine, Brian and Mark Henning, Jimmy and Melissa Lindine, Sean and Thomas Smalley, a brother, Frank Lindine (Gloria), a brother-in-law, James Chiappetta (Alice) as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Angelo and George Lindine.
Funeral services will take place on Friday May 9, at 12:00 p.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull and at 12:30 p.m. in St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main St., Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
