Alois C. Prihoda age 93, of Derby and formerly of Trumbull, entered into eternal rest on July 6, 2013.

Mr. Prihoda was born in Pilsen, Czechoslovakia. He came to America as an infant. He was a graduate of Derby High School, class of 1938. He received an associate degree from the Stone College in New Haven. He was a WWII Army Veteran.

He was a resident of Trumbull since 1951 before moving to Derby. He was a communicate of St. Catherine of Siena Church. He served several positions with Singer Manufacturing Co and the Metal Division of Textron, Inc., until his retirement in 1982.

He was predeceased by his wife of 55 years, Leandra (Bialek) Prihoda.

He is survived several nieces and nephews including Robert and his wife Lori and William Prihoda and his girlfriend Beverly Sturgess ofAnsonia; great nieces and nephews; and great-great nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to pay their last respects at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home 399 White Plains Rd., on Tuesday from 4-8p.m.  Funeral services will take place on Wednesday at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home and at 10:00 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Church 190 Shelton Rd. Trumbull. Interment will follow in Nichols Village Cemetery.

The family would also like to extend their gratitude to the nurses and staff of the Family Care of Stratford for their special care.
