Joyce Michelson, 81, a long time Easton resident, died December 25 at Ludlowe Center for Health & Rehabilitation in Fairfield, surrounded by her children. She was the loving wife of Herman Michelson, who pre-deceased her in 2010.
Joyce was born in Liberty, NY to her parents Harold and Della Rexford. She grew up in Loch Sheldrake, NY, where she met her husband who was playing in a band at a Catskills resort. She attended Ithaca College and Albany Business College.
Joyce started her own modeling and finishing school in Springfield, MA, where she and her husband lived after marriage before later moving to Easton, CT where they raised their family.
Joyce enjoyed spending time with family, especially her young grandchildren. She loved everything from shopping at the mall or a day trip to Mohegan Sun Casino, to a weekend getaway to the Bahamas with her daughters. She will be remembered as a thoughtful, loving and selfless woman, who devoted her life to her family. She was loved by all who were lucky enough to meet her.
Survivors include three children, Charles Michelson and his wife, Kelly of Shelton, Carolyn Bardani and her husband, Bill of Easton, and Lisa Michelson of Easton; three grandchildren, Alexandra, Billy and Stephanie Bardani, all of Easton; two granddogs Keono and Kaleb of Shelton.
A special thank you to the staff at Ludlowe, especially Andrea and Latanya, for all of their devoted care and attention.
