Volunteers are needed for this year’s Trumbull Day.

Adults for the beer tent and ticket booths are wanted as well as high school students for other areas. Student volunteers can receive community service hours.

Trumbull Day returns Saturday, June 28, at the field behind Trumbull High School and Hillcrest Middle School.

The town event, topped off with a fireworks display, starts at 12 p.m. and runs until 11 p.m. this year.

Organizers say the event will feature rides, games, children’s activities and music. A beer and wine tent will also be back this year.

“Please remember Trumbull Day can not happen without the help of our community,” organizers said.

If interested, send an email to emastroianni.trumbullday@gmail.com with the number of hours you would like volunteer, the time frame you would like to work, and shirt size.

Visitors will be charged an admission fee of $5 for ages 6 and over. Admission is free for children 5 and under and military who present an active card. Volunteers receive free admission.

Trumbull Day started in 1972 to celebrate the town’s 175th anniversary but, due in part to expenses of keeping the event going, it wasn’t held few years, before returning last year.
