Roughly ten inches of snow has covered Trumbull and, while it's switching over to a rain/sleet mix this afternoon, more snow is expected tonight.

A winter storm warning will remain in effect until 6 a.m. Friday, according to the National Weather Service.

Heavy snow this morning is tapering off to light freezing rain before 10 p.m., then another band of moderate to heavy snow will move in tonight. The snow will taper off after midnight.

The storm led to several closings Thursday.

First Selectman Timothy Herbst told Hersam Acorn Radio that crews were out since early Thursday morning working to clear roads.

A parking ban remains in effect in Trumbull before the snow can be cleared.
