Reading of the 'Declaration' Saturday at Town Hall

The fourth annual Reading of the Declaration of Independence will take place on the Trumbull Town Hall steps at 10 a.m., on Saturday, July 4. It is sponsored by the Trumbull Arts and the Trumbull Historical Society.

This historic portrayal features citizen volunteers reading the Declaration, led by the honorary color guard from Boy Scouts Troop 68 and Cub Scouts Pack 468. This year “John Adam’s”from the Milford Christian Academy, will speak.All are invited to sing the National Anthem along with Mandy Cook. This is a family event. Colonial costumes and flags are encouraged. Bring your own chairs.

New this year for the kids: Salute the Red, White and Blue by decorating non-motorized bikes, wagons and strollers for a small parade around the Green after the Reading. Deleany Franzen will play the flute leading the parade.
