Letter — Union head does not speak for Police Commission
Editor’s Note — The following letter, signed by Police Chief Michael Lombardo and Police Commission Chairman Angelo Magliocco and dated December 31, was sent to Economic and Community Development Director Rina Bakalar and First Selectman Vicki Tesoro.
The Trumbull Police Commission has reviewed the remarks made by the President of the Trumbull Police Union at its December 19, 2018 Planning and Zoning meeting regarding the proposed zone change at the former United Health Care complex. The Police Commission would like to clarify that the opinion stated by the Police Union President does not reflect those of the Chief of Police or the Police Commission.
Furthermore, the Trumbull Police Commission reviews all Calls for Service and the types of calls monthly with the Chief of Police and his Administrative Staff. The Trumbull Police Commission is in constant communication with the chief regarding current and future staffing needs.
The safety of the public is and always will be our number one priority and all police shifts are staffed at the required levels. Should you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
