Letter: Trumbull should be proud of Tim Herbst, town’s growth

To the Editor:

It is with great confidence that I write in strong support of First Selectman Tim Herbst and his team.

Tim has worked hard to reform our town government, making needed and successful changes to departments such as Emergency Medical Service, Civil Service, Board of Education facilities department, Parks and Recreation and the Trumbull Health Department.  Under Tim’s leadership we have see an increase in the Town’s credit rating, town pensions fully funded at the ARC and the implementation of full day kindergarten. Additionally, we have unprecedented Economic Development, creating over 800 jobs in Trumbull with more development projects and new jobs to come.

Tim has brought responsible leadership to Trumbull.  As one of your State Representatives, I am often asked why Trumbull is creating jobs, keeping taxes low and improving services while at the state level the Malloy administration has delivered massive tax increases, government dysfunction and destructive policies. Trumbull should be very proud of how Tim has managed our town in a responsible manner, reforming government, investing in education and protecting our seniors.

We cannot afford to return to the wasteful spending and massive tax increases of the past and we certainly do not want Trumbull to behave like Hartford.  Tim has earned my support and the support of my family. I ask that you support him as well.

State Representative, 123rd District
