Letter: Current Zoning Board of Appeals rushed disinterested discussion of variances

To the Editor:

Elections in Trumbull this November include candidates for the Zoning Board of Appeals. Such members consider building variances for a home or structure. Variances of set boundaries may be allowed if "hardship" is a factor. On May 6, however, several variances were allowed on a property with apparently no hardship involved to the detriment of my property of 40 years. Four of five members of the board, including Richard Mayo who’s now running for re-election, voted to allow major variances.

Indeed, with an exception or two, all discussion by the board seemed rushed and disinterested.  Please check out those who gain your vote; you may need a thoughtful zoning board some day.
