Young Trumbull resident fights bullying
An 11 year-old Trumbull resident is doing her best to “jump bullying out of town,” by hosting an event Tuesday, June 16 at Rockin’ Jump.
Rachel Weintraub created Words Can Soar because, she said, “I felt that kids are so used to listening to adults talk bullying, but felt that most kids open up better to their peers about these types of issues because of how common the problem is.”
Words Can Soar has partnered with Free2Luv, which is a nonprofit, that works to celebrate equality and stand up to bullying (free2luv.org).
The event is June 16, from 3 to 8 p.m. at Trumbull's Rockin' Jump. If participants say they are there for the Words Can Soar anti-bullying event it will cost $17 for two hours of jump time. A portion of that, $5, is donated to anti-bullying.
