Vishakha Negi, a senior at Trumbull High School, was recently named a U.S. Presidential Scholars semi-finalist. She is one of 550 semi-finalists in the 2013 program, selected from more than 3,900 candidates on the basis of superior achievements, leadership qualities, personal character and involvement in community and school activities.

Selection of the scholars will be made by the Commission on Presidential Scholars and announced in May. One young man and one young woman from each state will be chosen.

Scholars will be invited to Washington D.C. in June to receive the U.S. Presidential Scholars medallion at a recognition ceremony.
