Performances of Seussical Jr. will be held at Madison Middle School on Friday, Aug. 9, 7 p.m., and Saturday, Aug. 10, at 2 p.m.

Trumbull resident Maurya Brown returns to direct her third Trumbull YouthAssociation Jr. presentation of 46 Trumbull students in grades 6-8. She is assisted by Nathan Clift, Emily Beers, Nicole Issac, Marcelle Morrissey, Ryan McEniry, Tina DeLucia, and Elena Kemper. The show is choreographed by Natalie Clift.

Tony winners Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty have brought to life Dr. Seuss characters, including Horton the Elephant (DJ Flam), The Cat in the Hat (Courtney Massari), Gertrude McFuzz (Sarah Giaquinto), Lazy Mayzie (Irene Bal), and a little boy with a big imagination-Jojo (Luke Hopkins). Also, Mr. Mayor (David Miller), Mrs. Mayor (Macy Lawton) and the Sour Kangaroo (Anna Buchta). The colorful characters transport you from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus to the invisible world of the Whos.

Tickets are on sale Monday through Friday, 1-2 p.m., and 4-5 p.m. in front of Madison Middle School or at the door, prior to performance.
