Once again, the 27 members of the winter color guard of Trumbull High School’s Golden Eagle Marching Band have emerged victorious from their international competition in Dayton, Ohio. Directed by Raymond Rhodes, Trumbull’s winter guard competed against 22 other teams from throughout the world. In existence for 30 years, Trumbull’s color guard has been competing nationally in the Scholastic World Division since 1996. Performing this year’s show titled “One Winter,” Trumbull’s color guard earned a score of 85.5, allowing the team to finish in the top 10 in the Scholastic World Class.

This year’s group continues a long award winning tradition for Trumbull High’s color guard. They captured the bronze medal in 2006 and in 2011 earned the Musical Arts Conference’s “National Best” Color Guard honor. Over the years, the color guard and its winter program have achieved numerous honors and top national awards.

The band’s Winter Percussion group also competes for a national title.
